The sound of a coffee machine brewing and finishing the coffee brew.

Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.

For a podcast project i needed some coffee related sounds so i recorded our techni-vorm moccamaster, filter coffee machine as it brewed a full pot. Our version has a metallic thermos jug rather than the standard glass jug. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. A full set of assorted sounds i recorded personally of my coffee brewing setup a while back. I get great use out of these, as there is a nice range here, clicks, gears, liquid pouring, tapping on small cups, the list goes on. Feel free to use however you want without credit.
